Congratulations to Tara S., third grader at Hayshire Elementary, for excellent use of detail and description!
Deep in the jungle there lived…something. The local villagers weren’t sure of what it was, and the occasional passing scientist was much too afraid to investigate it. There were stories, of what it mite be, stories of what had happened when it came to the village, but no one had seen it.
John was however, very curious, he had gone into the jungle before, looking for it, as he was doing today. John sneaked quietly through the trees, and tiptoed past the caves, when, he heard….
A bang!!!!!!! Just then he saw a huge cheetah!!!!! The cheetah’s mouth was dripping with cherry red blood. Her claws were stabled on the floor. John was so terrified. He quickly climbed up a tree before the cheetah got him. Then the cheetah went back in it’s cave. John took leaves that were radiant green. With those leaves John made a hut. He made ropes with peachy vines. Just then he saw a girl from the jungle. Her name was Nana. She lead him back home. But more importantly John’s girlfriend was happy. Juliana gave him a big kiss. Everyone was happy and everyone found out what that thing was.
Congratulations to Matthew R., third grader at Hayshire Elementary, for writing a very exciting story with a thrilling plot!

But a sudden wind seemed almost to be silent. Then suddenly out of no where a toad appeared as a warning to stay away so I didn’t want to take any chances so John slowly walked away to late! The mysterious creature captured me and boy was it ugly. It snarled and nashed it green soiled teeth John backed away but defending his lare the creature snarled again. John hesitated thinking what to do. Then all of a sudden it came to him. There was a vine within inches from him. John slowly paced with the animal still staring at him over the vine then tied a piece of meat from his carry sac and tied it to the string then got as close as he could to the tiger and drooped the meat on the ground. But still holding the tip of the string he hurled it as far John could the tiger looked back, giving John just enough time to climb into the nearest tree. But John wasn’t safe yet. The tiger realized it was a trick. The tiger clawed and clawed til he realized it was no use the tiger would never catch John. So the tiger limped away tired and as hungry as can be. Finally John could escape but he was still very curious and new the animal was seriously injured. So he set a trap the next morning when the tiger was still sleeping. He waited for the tiger to wake up. Finally the tiger approached the trap it worked the tiger landed at the bottom of the pit than a cage over the tiger then he phoned his professor. The professor came as soon as possible. They took the injured tiger to the Asian pet doctor faster then a speeding cheetah. Luckly they got there right on time the tiger was about to die. After the doctor saved the tiger they released it back into it home. THE END
